Good quality data are one of the most important aspects of conducting an impact evaluation, but obtaining or generating high quality data entails trade-offs and difficulties. This paper focuses on the effective and appropriate use of existing data and on issues involved in collecting new data,  as well as on exploiting combinations of existing and new data.
