The World Health Organisation (WHO) defined a health promoting school as one that is constantly strengthening its capacity as a healthy setting for living, learning and working. Such schools foster healthy and learning environment.
Provision of health services and facilities like immunization, school feeding, counselling, sick-bay and school dispensaries are not new to Nigeria. These support services contributed to the high quality of education Nigeria was once known for.
