Osun State's HGSF programme is coordinated and managed through the Osun State Elementary School Feeding and Health (O'Meals Programme); and it is the point of interaction of the various line ministries and the development and monitoring agencies of the various units of the office.
Since the redesign of the programme in 2012, a Transition Strategy Plan (TSP) was developed at the request of the Government of Osun State to support the delivery of a sustainable elementary school feeding programme in the state.
The aim of this document is to strengthen the capacity needed to implement the programme effectively so as to benefit school children as well as smallholder farmers. From this TSP a programme document is currently being developed. This document sets out to explain the context of the programme, its challenges and successes especially in the aspects of its relationship with components such as education, child nutrition, funding, budgeting, monitoring and evaluation, and new courses allocated for it which is expected to lead to greater productivity, relevance and sustainability.
